Directions:

Combine water and cornstarch completely.  I like using large glass measuring cups since it is so easy to see how much I have made.  This is handy when you have multiple kids and need to pour the results out evenly for them to play with.

Stir in pumpkin pie spice,  3 drops yellow food coloring and 1 drop red.  You can continue adding food coloring in these amounts until your desired color shade is reached.  If you have orange food coloring, you may want to try it first, but your average packs of food coloring come with just the basic colors, thus the blending needed.

Cut and remove the top of a pumpkin.  Make the opening large enough that little hands can go in easily. Scoop out all seeds and fibers if desired- I left some of them in to give more texture to the sensory experience.  Kids love the slimy texture of the inside of the pumpkin.  Adding our pumpkin pie scented homemade slime to that texture just increases the sensory experience.

Pour the cornstarch mixture into the pumpkin or a shallow bowl.  This homemade slime mixture is also great for use in a small shoebox sized plastic box.
